Chandigarh, February 21, 2024: MPH 2nd year Students of Centre for Public Health, Seerat Kataria and Bijna, organized a comprehensive menstrual workshop at Government Model High School, Sector 25, on February 21, for female students of class 6th and 7th.
The event was graced by Dr. Savita Prastar, the former Coordinator of the Centre of Public Health at Panjab University, as the esteemed Chief Guest and under the guidance of Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor, Dr. Komal Sehgal, Coordinator of the Centre for Public Health, and Rajinder Singh, Principal of GMHS, Sector-25. Students covered vital topics including puberty, nutrition, physiology of periods, preparation for menstruation, and menstrual hygiene.
The session also included practical demonstrations of pads, menstrual cups, and tampons, fostering interactive and engaging activities for students.
The workshop concluded with a thoughtful question and answer session, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of menstrual health among the students.
