Comprehensive reforms underway in Revenue department to facilitate people- Brahm Shankar Sharma
Punjab Revenue Minister Brahm Shankar Sharma on Thursday said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was undertaking transformational reforms in the department to facilitate the general public.
Khanna (Ludhiana) June 22, 2023: Punjab Revenue Minister Brahm Shankar Sharma on Thursday said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was undertaking transformational reforms in the department to facilitate the general public.
Participating in Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Khanna, Sharma said that the Punjab government had launched whatsapp number 8184900002 to lodge complaints related to the state’s revenue department. MLA Tarunpreet Singh Sondh was also present on the occasion.
The Cabinet Minister said that 1200 complaints so far were received on this helpline of which 600 we're already settled and action was already underway to clear remaining grievances. He said that this helpline had helped to make the services of the department more transparent and responsive.
Speaking on the secret list of 48 tainted tehsildars sent to the government by the Vigilance Bureau, he said that the list was prepared by vigilance after gathering information from the field staff and now vigilance was collecting evidence following which action will be taken accordingly. The Punjab government was committed to ensure corruption- free administration and will not spare anyone found involved in corrupt practices.
Over the meeting of SGPC delegation with Governor, Cabinet Minister said that the Sikh community was elated with the Vidhan Sabha passed the Sikh Gurudwaras (Amendment) Bill, 2023 which made the telecast of Gurbani from the Harminder Sahib in Amritsar free for all.
