Concluding day of 15 days refresher course for faculty of higher education
Dean University Instruction, PU gives valedictory address
Chandigarh: Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean University Instruction, Panjab University gave valedictory address in the concluding day of 15 days Refresher Course for faculty of higher education. The programme themed on ‘Teacher Education’ was being organized by Department of Community Education and Disability Studies, PU, Chandigarh in collaboration with Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University and will focus on the myriad aspects of faculty development at all levels and phases.
In his valedictory address Prof. Shankarji Jha exhorted the teachers to be updated, be sensitive and be relevant. Equating their position to professionals like doctors, lawyers he underlined that no professional can afford to remain ignorant of the latest developments in the field. He also highlighted that teachers’ interventions should be humane and unbiased towards his/her students.
Prof. S.K. Tomar, Director, Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), P.U., Chandigarh welcomed the participants and briefed about the Refresher Course. The participants from seven states of the country were participating in the course.
Dr. Dazy Zarabi, Course Coordinator and Chairperson of the Department of Community Education and Disability Studies, PU, Chandigarh stated that around twenty Resource Persons were invited and topics like Artificial intelligence in teacher education, growth and Empowerment of Teacher Educator, Curriculum Development, Emotional intelligence, Research Methodology, Development of MOOCS etc. were deliberated on in the Refresher Course.
Dr. JyantiDutta had given research proposals to the participants for empirical study on various issues of teacher education and the presentations were made by the participants in the groups which was highly appreciated.
