Chandigarh, October 25, 2012: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sudden and tragic demise of eminent actor and satirist Jaspal Bhatti (57) who passed away in a fatal road accident at Shahkot in Jalandhar district on early Thursday.

Describing Bhatti as a multi-facet personality and a true son of soil, the Chief Minister said that Bhatti through his rare sarcastic humor and wit made enormous contribution in sensitising the general public especially at the grass roots level in eradicating social evils from the society.   

The Chief Minister said that Bhatti being an icon of budding artists especially the humorists across the country has left an indelible imprint on the television and Punjabi film industry due to his relentless efforts to relieve the stressed minds in the present melancholic society through his healthy comedy as a ‘laughter king’ and became a household name in comedy.  

Bhatti as a celebrated columnist also played a pro-active role in highlighting the social issues to the fore through his prolific writings.  

Badal said in the death of Bhatti a void has been created in the arena of Punjabi film industry, TV and print media which was hard to be filled. 

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also wished a speedy recovery to his son Jasraj and others who were injured while travelling along with Bhatti on that fateful day.   

Sharing his heart felt sympathies with the bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give courage to family members, friends, relatives and millions of his fans to bear this irreparable loss. 

Sukhbir condoles Jaspal Bhatti’s untimely demise:

 

Chandigarh: The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today expressed deep shock at  the tragic and untimely demise of renowned comedian  and satirist Jaspal Singh Bhatti, who died early in the morning in a road accident.

Describing Bhatti as a unique artist, Badal said that he was a great satirist who always pointed out the menaces spread in our society and tried to leave an impact with his lucid but sharp comments. He said that with his death a void has been created in comedy world which could not be fulfilled. Badal prayed to Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Majithia condoles untimely demise of great satirist Jaspal Bhatti:

Chandigarh: Bikram Singh Majithia, Information and Public Relations Minister expressed deep grief on the untimely and tragic demise of great satirist Jaspal Bhatti, who succumbed to injuries after a fatal road mishap near Shahkot.

 In a condolence message, Majithia said that Bhatti was a world renowned Punjabi comedian and he would always be remembered for his special focused comedy against social evils making people aware and educate towards their moral rights. He said that Bhatti's death was a great loss to country especially to the Punjab as he promoted the Punjabi culture, traditions and Punjabiat on new heights in Bollywood. He said that Bhatti's concepts of comedy were always excellent and he would also be an icon for budding comedians.

Expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of bereaved family, Majithia prayed the Almighty to give strength to the members to bear this irreparable loss and peace to the departed soul.

Kusumjit Sidhu mourns demise of Jaspal Bhatti:

Chandigarh: Kusumjit Sidhu, Chief Electoral Officer Punjab today mourned the sad and untimely demise of Jaspal Bhatti ,  brand ambassador of ECI for Punjab.

Describing Bhatti as the pillar of social satire, renowned actor and political satirist, known for his humorous but impactful style of projecting the social aberration, Sidhu said that it was unfortunate to have lost him at such an early age. She said that he filled our lives with much needed humor. She expressed her heartfelt condolences to the family and prayed to the Almighty to give them strength to bear this grave tragedy.
