Demands registration of case and arrest of Cong minister Ashu for disrespecting articles of Sikh faith

Mullanpur Dakha, October 15, 2019: Former minister Bikram Singh Majithia today said chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s road show was a complete flop and the Congress government was forced to rely on Punjab Police personnel to shower flowers on the chief minister’s cavalcade in the absence of any support from the public.

Talking to newsmen here, Mr Majithia said people stayed away from the roadshow completely and boycotted the chief minister because they held him responsible for cheating them. “People now also don’t have any faith in the Chhota Captain - Congress candidate Sandeep Sandhu - as they feel that he will also betray them like his boss Capt Amarinder”. He said the Congress candidate had earlier been rejected by the people of his village Bhagsinghwala and would be rejected by the people of Dakha also.

Mr Majithia also demanded that a case be registered against cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu for disrespecting the “dastar” of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji. He said the minister should also be arrested promptly for hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community by attacking a Sikh youth and disrespecting Sikh articles of faith. He said it was a shame that no action had been taken in the case as per law. “This is reflective of the mind set of the Congress party which has always discriminated against the Sikhs and attacked their religious places besides indulging in mass genocide against them”.

Earlier, while speaking at public meetings in favour of SAD candidate Manpreet Singh Ayali, Mr Majithia said the people of Punjab could not expect anything from a chief minister who had taken a false oath in the name of the holy Gutka Sahab as well as the ‘charan’ of Sri Guru Gobind Singh. He said Capt Amarinder’s abysmal failure to fulfil the promises made to the people had already resulted in suicides by 1400 farmers. “Farm loans were not waived. But recovery proceedings were started against farmers. Similarly youth were not given jobs under the promised ghar ghar naukari scheme. Teachers protesting for their genuine demands were beaten up”.

Stating the time had come to seek justice for the farmers, khet mazdoor, youth, Dalits and government employees, Mr Majithia said “Chhota” Captain Sandeep Sandhu was as much responsible for their plight as “Vadda” Captain - Amarinder Singh. He urged the people to reject the Congress candidate to send out a message that they would not be befooled by the Congress party again.
