Congress candidate from Rohtak Lok Sabha Deepender Hooda took on the BJP and said its slogan of ‘400-paar’ for the Lok Sabha elections will fall flat like their ’75-paar’ slogan in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha election.
Rohtak, May 2, 2024: Congress candidate from Rohtak Lok Sabha Deepender Hooda took on the BJP and said its slogan of ‘400-paar’ for the Lok Sabha elections will fall flat like their ’75-paar’ slogan in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha election.
Deepender campaigned in Basana, Sample, Khairadi, Gudhan, Katesara, Pilana, Sangahera, Ningana, Kahnour, Aanwal, Jindran, Lahli, Bhali, Baniyani, Patwapur, Garhi, Jethpur, Masoodpur and other villages of Kalanaur constituency, along with MLA Shakuntala Khatak. He appealed to vote in favour of the Congress.
Taking on the BJP, he said this government has committed atrocities on every class, now the public will respond to every atrocities with votes and will break the arrogance of BJP in this election. “The people of the state are eagerly waiting for May 25 and they will vote heavily and oust the BJP from power,” he said.
Raising the issue of unemployment in the state, he said the BJP government took the international airport of Meham to Jewar in Uttar Pradesh, similarly the rail coach factory was also taken to Uttar Pradesh. “Meham's international airport was to be built just a few kilometers away from Kalanaur and would provide employment to lakhs of people,” he said.
“Due to record inflation, unemployment, corruption, drug addiction and breakdown of law and order in the state, there is a feeling of insecurity among common people and businessmen,” he said.
“The era of illegal extortion and firing has once again returned in the state. New gangs, mafias and shooters have emerged. During its ten years of rule, BJP has made Haryana the center of crime and unemployment,” he said.
Deepender said there is BJP government in both the Center and the State, but neither any new investment has come here, nor any new project has come up, nor any new factory or industry has been set up. On the contrary, big projects worth thousands of crores of Rupees approved by during the Congress government were sent to other states.
He said during the Hooda government of Congress, about 3.82 lakh poor families were given free plots of 100 square yards to build their houses. “Under the Priyadarshini Awas Yojana, they were given a grant of Rs 90,100, but as soon as the BJP government came to power, it stopped all the schemes for the benefit of the poor,” he stated.
He told said the Hooda government had waived off not only the interest, but also the entire principal loan of the loans of the Scheduled Caste Corporation. “About 30 lakh Scheduled Caste students were provided the benefit of scholarship through various schemes for their education, but the BJP government also closed the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Meritorious Student Scheme. Similarly, to get rid of the drinking water problem, a scheme was launched to provide free water connections, water tanks and taps to poor families. This too was stopped by the BJP government and even forced recovery from the beneficiaries,” he said.
Reiterating the resolutions of the Congress Party, he said when the Congress government is formed in Haryana, old age pension would be increased to Rs 6000, and every family will be given 300 units of free electricity, that is. If it is more than 300 units, it will be counted from 1 unit. He also stated that the Congress would provide LPG cylinder for Rs 500 to every housewife, old pension to employees, scheme of free plot of 100 square yards for poor, backward and Dalit families will be started again, Rs 3.5 lakh for construction of houses under Indira Awas Yojana.
“We will end temporary recruitment policy in Haryana, and bring in time bound and permanent recruitment for 2 lakh posts, along with reservation and pension. We will guarantee MSP to farmers, and will withdraw the Agneepath scheme when the Congress party comes to power at the Centre,” he said.
“People will get ownership rights on the plots found on Panchayati land in Kalanaur. We will come up with a policy to make sanitation workers, rural watchmen, MNREGA permanent, and will increase the rights of Asha workers, Anganwadi and Panchayat sarpanches,” he added.
