Rohtak, May 1, 2024: Congress candidate From Rohtak Lok Sabha Deepender Hooda said Haryana lost lakhs of jobs that would have been created if projects like Meham International Airport, Rail Coach Factory and several other projects approved by the Congress in the state were not taken away to other states. He said a weak government in Haryana could not even retain approved projects, rather than getting new ones for the state.
Deepender was addressing the people while visiting the villages Bahu Jamalpur, Singhpura Khurd, Singhpura Kalan, Sundarpur, Samar Gopalpur Khurd, Samar Gopalpur Kalan, Bhagwatipur, Gharoti, Indergarh, Chandi, Khairanti, Lakhan Majra, Bainsi, Kharak Jatan, Gugaheri and other villages in Meham constituency. Accompanied by former Minister Anand Singh Dangi, he campaigned for elections and appealed to vote in favour of Congress.
He said that till 2014, Haryana, which was number 1 in providing employment and on every scale of development, has today reached number 1 in terms of unemployment, corruption, inflation, drug addiction, crime and arrogance of the BJP government, while it has reached 17th place in development rate.
“Today there is an unemployed person in every household. Unemployed youth are forced to seek their future in drugs, crime or migrate abroad. Inflation has ruined the budget of every household,” he said.
Deepender said they brought metro till Bahadurgarh, but the BJP government could not build even a single metro pole in 10 years. “Due to the weak government in Haryana, the Meham International Airport and Rail Coach Factory, sanctioned by us, also went to another state and along with it lakhs of jobs were also lost. If the BJP government had not taken away these big projects from Haryana, there would not have been such severe unemployment in the state today,” he said.
He added that despite being out of the government, the work of Hansi-Maham-Rohtak railway line was also completed with a lot of efforts. “Rohtak-Maham-Hansi new rail line project was approved in 2011 with the participation of UPA and Hooda government. We got the budget in 2012 and the work started in 2013 by holding a rail-road rally in Hansi and laying the foundation stone by the current Congress President and the then Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge and I kept following up for the project, till the work was completed,” he said.
“There came a time when, after the change of government in the state, the project was put on the back burner. To start the work, I even staged a protest in Hansi and Meham. When the Chief Minister Manohar lal said that the file was not available, I sent the complete file by post,” he added.
“In the last 10 years, BJP and BJP-JJP government have not done any work except looting the state. Forget about any new project coming up in the area, even the approved big projects of our time were picked up one after the other, and sent to other states,” he stated.
He said the BJP government in Haryana has stopped all the poor welfare schemes of the Hooda government of the Congress.
Deepender said this election is to save democracy and the constitution of the country. “This election is to turn the wheel of development again in Haryana,” he added.
“Today there is huge resentment against the BJP government in the entire state and people have decided to change this government. They are now only waiting for the voting day on 25th May,” he said.
