Congress compromised nation’s sovereignty during Operation Bluestar: SAD

Chandigarh, January 14, 2014: The Shiromani Akali Dal lambasted the Congress party for its nefarious designs against the Sikh community and said that the exposure of top secret British documents has exposed the real conspiracy behind Operation Bluestar.
In a strong worded statement released from the party head office here today, the SAD Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that the media reports published today have unearthed a major conspiracy of the Congress party which even went to the extent of compromising the national sovereignty for its political gains.
He said that is shocking to see that to solve an issue of internal security of Punjab state, the then Congress leader Indira Gandhi took the services of British forces. It amounts to a distrust on the Indian forces as well as a compromise on the sovereignty of a democratic country.
Dr. Cheema further said that Congress led Union government must come clean  on the unknown compulsions under which it had to take the help of forces from such a country against whom the Nation had fought a battle of freedom for more than 200 years.
The SAD leader said that from the documents it has become clear that the Congress government had made up its mind on Operation Blue star as early as February in 1984 but it lingered on the action only to create circumstances to justify it. He said that thousands of pilgrims  were killed in the Operation which has now proved to be  a conspiracy  against the Sikhs. Dr. Cheema also said that the only justification of colluding with British forces could be that they had the expertise to kill in thousands of freedom fighters in 1919  in a massacre at Jallianwala Bagh. It is a historical fact that thousands of freedom fighters including majority of Sikhs had sacrificed their lives to attain the goal of freedom but it is shameful that only after 37 years of Independence the Congress led Union government conspired with the same British forces for an attack on its own nationals.
Asking the Congress led UPA government to come clean on the issue, the SAD Spokesman said that it should make public all the relevant documents related with the Operation Blue Star and must tell the nation the ‘truth’ behind the action whose wounds are still fresh in the minds of the Sikh community.// punjab news live, punjab news online, punjab news, punjab news headlines, punjab breaking news, india news, punjab news,
