Congress engaged in ‘Cover up Operation’ to save Robert Vadra: Tarun Chugh
Chandigarh, December 8, 2018: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today launched a frontal attack on Congress party for its ‘Cover up Operation’ to save Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of 10-Janpath. Tarun Chugh, the national secretary of the BJP, said Vadra who was facing allegations of taking commission in the purchase of Arms was being shamelessly defended by the Congress party after ED’s raids. “Congress has always defended those who took commissions in defence deals and this time too was trying to save Rahul Vadra’s skin,” he said. Chugh said ED’s raid on three associates of Robert Vadra comes days after CBI successfully got extradited Augusta Westland deal middleman Christian James Michel. The BJP leader alleged that Rahul Vadra had abused his position as the son-in-law of Gandhis and had launched fake companies to gobble crores of rupees which in fact was public money. Justifying the action against Vadra, Chugh said the BJP-led NDA government was bringing the truth about Vadra’s corrupt practices. He claimed that each and every thing was being done in a legal way and the procedure was followed but Congress was trying to exert political pressure to hinder the process of law. Chugh said it was surprising that Sonia, Rahul and other senior Congress leaders instead of feeling ashamed and embarrassed were trying to question the acts of investigating agencies which were simply doing their duty. “Has the son-in-law of the first family of Congress got some extra-constitutional powers or privileges to loot the public exchequer which actually belongs to the common and the poorest of the poor?”, he asked. Chugh alleged that the first family of the Congress had turned into a ‘garbage dump of the corrupt’.
