Congress is financing poll campaign of AAP, PDA, Taksali: Majithia

Don’t rub our wounds by raising “ “ Priyanka nahin aandi hai, doosri Indira Gandhi hai” : Majithia Kapurthala, April 7, 2019: The Congress is financing the poll campaign of the Aam Aadmi Party(AAP), Punjab conglomeration of political groups Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA) and the Shiromani Akali Dal ( Taksali) and they together are working for common objective to stall return of Narinder Modi’s NDA government. Stating this here today while addressing a mammoth rally in support of party’s nominee from Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat Bibi Jagir Kaur, former minister and SAD core committee member Bikram Singh Majithia averred that all these parties are one , hence the electoral fight is between the SAD and Congress and rest of the parties in fray are mere spoilers. Taking serious objection to Congress campaign of releasing a poster stating,“Priyanka nahin aandhi hai, doosri Indra Gandhi hai” , Majithia said that Punjabis, specially Sikhs have not forgiven Mrs. Indira Gandhi since she stormed the holiest Golden Temple and raised down the Akal Takht and another Indira Gandi ( priyanka) would be spurned with equal contempt and ferocity. Majithia alleged that such a campaign is primarily designed as a teaser to the Sikh community and return of “doosri Indira Gandhi” is a threat and a serious assault on “Sikh psychy”. “The Congress is again rubbing salt on our wounds”, rued Majithia. Hitting out at present Congress regime of Amarinder Singh, Majithia said all sections of society – be it youth, farmers, government employees and women – are all disillusioned and keen that the voting for the state assembly too should have been held simultaneously so that they could have got rid of the non-performing government instantly. Majithia said that the disenchantment from the ruling party is because it has failed to honour even single poll promise. The Congress had promised farmers complete loan waiver and over 900 farmers have committed suicide during the last two years and the state government is totally insensitive to the farmers. Neither families of suicide victims have been given any job nor any financial assistance as promised on the eve of elections, he added. Pointing that the farmers continue getting auction notices and threat of jail, Majithia said that if the government is committed to complete farm loan waiver, then why the proceeding of farmer’s land auction are in progress and hundreds of farmers are getting notice daily. Reminding that the people had fallen prey to the false assurances of Congress and instead of getting subsidized ghee along with Atta and Dal, they are now denied atta and dal too. Similarly, they are getting huge electricity bills as the electricity is costliest in the country. No job has been provided except to family of former chief minister Beant Singh, he added. Jagir Kaur too addressed the gathering saying that she is taking the message of development which had taken place during ten years of the SAD-BJP regime under the leadership of Parkash Singh Badal and vision of SAD president Sukhbir Badal. She said that the Congress had hijacked the panchayat and Zila parishad elections last year and the people would teach it a lesson for killing democracy by completely routing it Lok Sabha polls.
