Congress fooled youth of Punjab with hoax job fairs: Bhagwant Mann
Says after promising employment in 2017 elections, Congress gave jobs to their MLAs and ministers
Guru Har Sahai/Ferozpur, February 8, 2022: Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Punjab chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann accused the Akali Dal and Congress of betraying the youth of Punjab and playing with their lives. Mann said that for the last decade, the youth of Punjab have been protesting on the streets for employment and suffering lathicharge of the police, but the government of both the parties gave nothing but false promises to the unemployed youth.
Mann said that due to the incompetence and lack of intention of Akali and Congress governments, today the lakhs of youth is over-age and not illegible for jobs. Frustrated with life, lakhs of youth are trapped in the quagmire of drugs and lakhs of youths of Punjab are forced to go abroad. Mann questioned that who is responsible for the ruin of the future of these innocent youngsters? Mann said that the problem of unemployment is not new. This problem has assumed a formidable form today because the Badal-BJP and Congress governments did not take any concrete steps to provide employment to the youth.
Bhagwant Mann reached Ferozepur on Tuesday. Here he campaigned in favour of AAP candidate Rajnish Dahiya from Ferozepur Rural, Ranveer Bhullar from Ferozepur Urban and Fauja Singh Sarari from Guru Har Sahai and appealed to the people to vote for AAP. Many state level and local leaders of the party including AAP candidates were present along with Mann during his election campaign in Ferozpur.
Addressing the people, Mann accused the Congress government of misleading the youth and said that in the 2017 elections, the Congress had promised jobs to every household, but after coming to power, they exploited and made fool of the unemployed youth with hoax and useless job fairs and collected crores through job farms and exams. Police batons were used on unemployed youth who were protesting on the streets for their rights. Instead of giving jobs to educated unemployed common youth, the Congress government gave government jobs to the sons, daughters and relatives of its MLAs and ministers. Mann said that on Feb 20th, the youth of Punjab will give a befitting reply to this betrayal of Congress.
Mann promised, “The Aam Aadmi Party government would solve all the problems of the youth by providing good job and higher education opportunities and government incentive to start their own businesses. Our aim is not only to provide employment to the unemployed, but to make them job creators and providers. We will also stop the forced migration of youngsters and will provide them with ample opportunities and resources in Punjab itself.” Mann said that it is the time to change the fortune of Punjab so give a chance to Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab.”
