Congress Govt patronising gangsters: Sukhbir Badal

Ferozepur, August 19, 2021: SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the Congress government was patronising gangsters which had vitiated the law and order situation in the State and had created a fear psychosis among the people.

Addressing eleven public meetings  in the constituency during the course of which he announced the candidature of Vardev Singh Mann from this seat, the SAD president said the gangster culture introduced by the Congress had created a sense of terror amongst Punjabis. “The trade and industry is feeling insecure as it’s representatives are constantly getting extortion threats."

The SAD President assured the people that the SAD- BSP alliance would increase the capacity of irrigation distributaries’ and minors in the constituency. “We will get the Nijamwa distributory relined and also increase the capacity of Kahansinghwala and Chak Saidoke minors”. Earlier people had complained to him that they were not able to get water for irrigation purposes due to the poor condition of the distributory and minors”.

Sukhbir also held meetings with the local bar association as well as impromptu meetings with residents of Guru Har Sahai. Lawyers urged that the area should be consolidated and increased besides  creating a welfare fund for advocates at the sub division level.

Sukhbir also held an impromptu interaction with residents of the city who complained that the roads of the entire town had been uprooted since years with the sewerage project not being taken up for completion. Sukhbir told the residents that the SAD had given the entire sewerage and road project to a reputed company on a build & maintain basis for a 15 year spell but the Cong government changed the contractors and awarded it to their favourites. “It’s 4.5 years and still the project is nowhere near completion. He assured the residents that once the SAD - BSP alliance formed the government the entire project would be completed in one year.
