Congress in Punjab is a sinking ship, doing cosmetic exercises to fool people
congress, cosmetic, exercise
Chandigarh, August 20: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh said here today that the Congress after having failed to fulfil any of the electoral promises in Punjab was now doing a cosmetic exercise to salvage its image.
In a statement, Chugh ridiculed the formation of the ten-member strategic policy group after PCC president Navjot Sidhu held a meeting with Chief Minister Amarinder Singh saying that the Congress government failed to deliver anything to the state in the last more than four and a half years and now it was trying to fool the people of Punjab by indulging in a deceptive political discourse.
He said all sections of the society in Punjab were disappointed with the Amarinder Singh government. "Be it the youth who was promised 60 lakh jobs, or farmers who were promised exemption of loans, or school and college children who were promised mobile phones etc, it is complete disappointment all around", he said.
Chugh said the Congress in Punjab was a sinking ship and the seeming bonhomie between Amarinder Singh and Navjot Sidhu was only meant to fool the people. "Now even if the ministers start sitting in the party office to give a semblance of Shahi Darbar but will fail to explain why did the Amarinder government fail to keep promises and why did Capt Amarinder never left his luxurious farmhouse to connect to the people", he added.
