Congress to organise state level political conference at Chhapar on Sept 16

LUDHIANA, September 2, 2016: The Congress party will be holding a state level political conference at Chhapar on September 16. Since this is being held ahead of the elections, it will have a record participation this year, PCC general secretary and halqa in charge for Dakha, Jassi Khangura, said here today. Chhapaar falls in Dakha assembly segment.
All senior leaders of the party including the PCC president Capt Amarinder Singh, AICC in charge for Punjab Ms Asha Kumari, Secretary in charge Harish Chaudhary, the CLP leader Mr Charanjit Singh Channi, Ms Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Mr Sunil Jakhar, Mr Partap Bajwa and others will attend the conference.
Khangura said that there will be record participation of people in the conference this year, claiming that it will set the tone for the party’s 2017 election campaign. He said, with lot of resentment and anger against the Akali-BJP government, people were looking forward to Capt Amarinder Singh to save Punjab. He said, people still recall his tenure between 2002 and 2007 which was the best period in governance in modern Punjab. The conference will sound the bugle for war on the Akali-BJP government, he claimed.
