Dharamsala, January 18, 2022: Congress Party's National Secretary and former Minister Sudhir Sharma has termed the exasperated remarks made by the Bharatiya Janata Party regarding the Chief Minister's proposed visit of 19th January in Dharamsala, to be a big leap in the development of Dharamsala city, as ridiculous.
Sharma said that on completion of the four years' tenure, the Chief Minister of the BJP lead state government is coming to Dharamsala to count the development works of the previous government in his account and to cover up the stalled development of Dharamsala and its surrounding areas.
He added that the War Museum of the city was inaugurated in the previous government’s tenure and the same was kept locked for four years by Jai Ram Government and now there is a program to re-inaugurate the same building in CM’s visit to the city on Wednesday.
He said that the public wanted to know from the present government that now the Dharamsala campus of the Central University has been reduced only because the government does not have funds to deposit the NPV and the present government is recommending only 25 percent of the proposed land kept for CU during the time of Congress government.
The expansion and beautification of the Dhauladhar Hotel has been done by funds from the Asian Development Bank, which were approved for the Dharamsala constituency during the previous Congress government.
“About the proposed international convention center in the Zoravar Stadium, I wish to say that earlier a football academy has already been proposed in this stadium, for which money has been sanctioned by the previous government. That plan also includes an indoor gymnasium and lake right in front of this ground. A foundation stone was also laid during the time of the previous government. The stadium is meant for sports and not for erecting concrete jungles,” said Congress Party's National Secretary.
He said that Dharamsala ropeway is a gift of the previous Congress government, this ropeway was given to Tata Company for Rs 140 crore. It was supposed to be operational about three and a half years ago from today.” What was the reason that its cost increased from 140 crores to more than 200 crores? Why has the parking work not been started till date at the site of Ropeway?” he questioned.
Sudhir put few more questions to CM Jai Ram Thakur that what happened to the second capital status of Dharamsala?, Why has the work of the Freedom Fighter's building to be built in Dari not been started yet?, Why there is a delay in expansion of Gaggal airport?, Where is sanctioned amount for the proposed IT Park at Chaitaru?, What happened to the SAI hostel which was to be built with an indoor stadium?, What happened to the new township to be built on the land taken by HIMUDA in Narghota?, What happened to Himani Chamunda Ropeway?
