Rohtak, June 2, 2024: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda emphasized today that the Congress party will only recognize the actual election results, dismissing the validity of exit and opinion polls.
Speaking to media persons at Rohtak, Hooda underscored the frequent inaccuracies of polls conducted by various agencies, affirming that the true verdict will emerge from the EVMs on June 4.
During the press conference, Hooda highlighted the overwhelming public support for Congress during the elections. He noted that the people themselves organized in support of Congress, focusing their campaign on critical issues such as unemployment, crime, drug addiction, inflation, agriculture, and business. In contrast, Hooda criticized the BJP for lacking substantial issues or a credible track record, suggesting that this has led to a significant loss of public confidence in the current government.
With assembly elections on the horizon in Haryana following the Lok Sabha elections, Hooda expressed confidence that the electorate has already decided to back Congress and vote for change in Haryana. He criticized the BJP's decade-long government, alleging that it had failed to meet the expectations of any social segment, and had made Haryana number 1 unemployment.
Hooda pointed out the over 200,000 vacant posts in the state government and accused it of perpetuating recruitment scams, instead of filling these positions with permanent employees. He referenced the High Court's decision on the Common Eligibility Test (CET) as evidence of the BJP's flawed policies, arguing that the government aims to dismantle state employment opportunities through schemes marred by corruption and inefficiency.
Reiterating Congress's commitments, Hooda promised to create over 200,000 permanent jobs transparently and efficiently. He also pledged to address rising crime, drug addiction, and inflation, ensure Minimum Support Price (MSP) guarantees for farmers, and provide timely access to fertilizers, seeds, and medicines. He stressed that these commitments have garnered widespread support across various societal sectors.
