Connecting the generations: Grandparents
Grandparents are special to every child. The Grandparents are the very roots and foundation of family and children look up to the grandparents for essential support and unconditional love. Their knowledge is invaluable and their bed time stories are integral part of everyone's growing up. DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur organised a Samman Samaroh event - Grandparents Day Celebration on Friday and invited all the wonderful grandparents of our students from classes Nursery to II and felicitated them.

DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur organised a Samman Samaroh event - Grandparents Day Celebration on Friday and invited all the wonderful grandparents of our students from classes Nursery to II and felicitated them.
The event beheld the gracious presence of the Chief Guest of the day - Dr. Satish Arora and Sudha Arora- lecturer at DAV College, Jalandhar.
The day was filled with oodles of blessing, happy faces, excitement and cheer as the budding stars of our school displayed their love and affection for their grandparents.
The event started with a welcome song presented by the tiny tots of grade Nursery who were seen tapping their feet and showing their love.
Students of Grade LKG, UKG and I gave exemplary performances on various retro songs and left everyone spell bound with cheerful faces. Fun games and activities were organised for the grandparents. They participated zealously in all the games and activities and added a spark to the celebration with their robust participation. The icing on the cake was the Bhangra Performance by the grade II students which had glued everyone towards the stage and it was a sight to behold as the tiny tots were seen tapping their feet to the Punjabi beats.
Different emotions could be felt and all the attendees were visibly moved after witnessing the grandparents boundless affection for their grandchildren. Memories were cherished with perfect blend of smiles and tears.
Guest of Honour, Sudha Arora addressed the audience and asserted the importance of having elderly people around us. She emphasized gratitude to all the grandparents and for the important role they play in positive attachments and family life.
Principal Dr.Yogesh Gambhir thanked all the grandparents for their immense love and support. He stated that It was a memorable day for everyone - that will be cherished for long time.
