Contemporary, Historical and Social issues were showcased at Vet Varsity Youth Festival
One act plays on different issues of life were showcased in the ongoing youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. Evening session was reserved for theatrical events.
Ludhiana,December 5, 2024: One act plays on different issues of life were showcased in the ongoing youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. Evening session was reserved for theatrical events.
Aditya Dachalwal, Commissioner Municipal Corporation was chief guest of the function whereas Malkeet Rauni, renowned actor was the guest of honor of the session. Dachalwal motivated youngsters to do hard work for success in life. Malkeet Rauni asked students to hone their skills if they want to excel in the field of art. Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor encouraged students to chase their dreams till the fulfillment. He said that the university will provide them any type of support for their education and extracurricular activities.
Dr. Nirmal Jaura, DSW, PAU and Dr. Charanjit Singh Aulakh, Dean, College of Agriculture also graced the occasion.
Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director Students’ Welfare informed that students of different colleges showcased their acts in a beautiful manner. Play ‘Vithala’ established that a person should rely on his hard work without indulging any superstitions. Play ‘Devi’ put light on women empowerment and motivated females to come forward for their rights. Play ‘Agarbatti’ discussed the pain and agony of the widows whose husbands were killed in a revenge of different communities. Play ‘Saavi’ threw light on the bad and toxic rituals of different communities which were harmful for the women. Play ‘Dhian te Kahanian’ discussed the apprehensions, fears and doubts of a father who is a single parent of four daughters. Play ‘Sada Jagon Seer Mukeya’ was based on the miserable conditions and poverty of the farming community. The venue of these events was Open Air Theater PAU.
Dr. Brar said that in all the competitions, students from College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy and Food Science Technology, College of Fisheries, College of Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary Science College, Rampura Phul, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani participated along with affiliated college, Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar participated.
