Convocation ceremony held at Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health
Chandigarh, November 23, 2021: The Convocation 2021 of the Govt. College of Yoga Education & Health was held today on Tuesday, 23rd November, 2021 in the college campus. The solemn occasion was graced by Sarpreet Singh Gill, Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration along with Jagjit Singh, Director Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration who were welcomed by Dr. Sapna Nanda, Principal of the college.
The programme commenced with Saraswati Vandana followed by welcome address by the principal who also shared the college report which highlighted the achievements, accomplishments and various other activities organized by the college in last few years and initiatives taken by the college during the Covid-19 for the awareness and betterment of the Yoga Lovers in particular and society at large.
The Guest of Honour, Jagjit Singh, while addressing the students quoted “the ancient heritage of yoga has been bestowed to you with the hope that you will take yoga in its true sense, both technically as well as aesthetically to all. As trained teachers of Yoga, you have the chance to change the destiny of India.”
Sarpreet Singh Gill in his convocation address congratulated the students and medal winners and motivated them to strive for perfection in their lives. He quoted that “the college has passed the baton of responsibility to you. As trained Yoga teachers, it depends on your ability to steer the students towards attaining a sound mind, healthy body and clear consciousness. It is expected of you to extend the benefits of your knowledge to one and all.”
76 B.Ed. (Yoga) and 40 from Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy were awarded the degrees and diplomas respectively. The position holders were also awarded the medals for their excellent academic record.
