Chandigarh, March 17, 2025: Kirti Sheoran (Guest Faculty), Dr. Anu H. Gupta(Assistant Professor) and Mr. Ishdeep Singh (Master’s graduate) at the University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development (UIFT & VD), Panjab University, Chandigarh has received the Copyright for ‘The Cookie Dough Technique’- A Zero Waste Design Innovation.
Kirti Sheoran is a Guest Faculty at the UIFT & VD and a Ph.D. scholar under the guidance of Dr. Anu H. Gupta, has been awarded the copyright for her innovative sustainable design approach, “The Cookie Dough Technique”.

This unique technique repurposes fabric scraps, particularly leftover lining materials, into stylish and eco-friendly garments. Through a process of sorting, layering, and stitching these waste materials, The Cookie Dough Technique embodies zero-waste principles, contributing to responsible fashion consumption.
The project also highlights the creative input of Ishdeep Singh, a master’s graduate from UIFT & VD, who contributed significantly to the garment development process. The copyright, granted by the Government of India, officially recognizes this new approach as a major advancement in sustainable fashion.
