As the Parliament Elections 2024 draw near, national and regional political entities are gearing up for a high-stakes contest. In this democratic spectacle, political leaders are fervently motivating their cadre, turning the electoral process into a celebration akin to a festival.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a cadre-based political force, has initiated preparations for the upcoming elections. The party's senior leadership is actively engaging with booth-level committees and Panna Parmukhs to address organizational challenges related to social and political issues. Employing a systematic ideological approach, the BJP is motivating its dedicated cadre by highlighting the achievements of the past nine and a half years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. The party is placing special emphasis on self-employment policies such as Make in India, witnessing positive growth in the Indian industry and economy. With the completion of the Shree Ram Mandir in Ayodhya expected in January 2024, BJP leaders express confidence in an increased parliamentary seat count, bolstered by recent positive assembly election results.
On the other side, the Congress Party, with a rich history of ruling the country for five decades, finds itself at a crossroads. The surge of the BJP has led to uncertainty about the future prospects of the Indian National Congress. Despite efforts by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi through the Bharat Jodo Yatra, questions loom over the party's ability to augment its seat tally in the upcoming elections. The impact of recent losses in state governments, such as Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, adds complexity to the Congress narrative.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) remains hopeful about increasing its seat tally in the 2024 elections, leveraging its governance in Delhi and Punjab. Despite underperforming in recent state assembly elections, AAP anticipates better results in Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi. The potential alliance with the I.N.D.I.A. group hinges on seat adjustments, especially with the Congress in Punjab.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), with its distinct cadre and a history of forming a government in Uttar Pradesh, faces strategic decisions regarding contesting alone or forming alliances. The impact of its choices on vote division and overall support remains uncertain.
Other political entities like Janata Dal, Rashtriya Janata Dal, T.M.C., Shiv Sena, S.A, D. (B), and more are yet to reveal their alliance strategies. In the dynamic chessboard of politics, where friends become foes and vice versa, the unpredictable nature prevails, demonstrating that in politics, everything is fair in war and love.
In Punjab politics, the question arises whether alliances will dominate or parties will field their candidates independently, setting the stage for a multi-cornered contest.
