Counting of votes to start from 8 am on December 8
Kangra district administration gearing up
Dharamshala, November 28, 2022: The counting of votes for the Legislative Assembly General Election-2022 will start at 8 am on December 8. The administration in Kangra District too is gearing up to make elaborate arrangements regarding the counting of votes. The exercise regarding the preparations related to the counting of votes has been intensified, said a government official.
In this series, a training workshop was organized for all the election officers of the district on Monday at Dharamshala.
District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Dr.Nipun Jindal instructed the election officers regarding the entire process of counting of votes and all arrangements related to counting of votes including proper arrangement of counting centers.
He instructed that the counting centers should be fully prepared by December 5 for the counting of votes.
“Transparency and fairness should be ensured in the entire process of counting of votes. All officers should carefully read the rules of the Election Commission related to the counting of votes, so that there is no confusion,” instructed Dr Jindal.
Services of about 1000 personnel will be taken for counting of votes and the first rehearsal for the counting personnel will be held on December 3.
He said, “Only authorized people would be allowed inside the counting venue during the counting of votes. The entire process will be video graphed.”
ADM Rohit Rathore, ASP Badri Singh and election officers of all 15 assembly constituencies of the district along with officers associated with the security arrangements of counting centers participated in the workshop.
Kangra district has 15 seats in the 68 seater Himachal assembly for which polling was conducted on 12th November.
