Directs officials to empanel maximum people under this scheme
Ludhiana: To cover the all eligible beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana, that was launched to provide free treatment facility upto Rs. 5 lakh to the needy people of the state, Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma today directed all officials to ensure that maximum people are covered under this scheme.
While chairing a review meeting at Bachat Bhawan in District Administrative Complex, here, Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma said that permanent camps are being set up in 13 market committees of the district, while the e-cards of this scheme can also be made at the Common Service Centres (CSCs). He directed the officials to ensure that maximum coverage of eligible beneficiaries who have not yet got the cards, for getting the benefit of this scheme, should be done.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the residents having smart ration cards, workers registered with the labor department, J form holders farmers, accredited and yellow card holders journalists, small traders registered with the excise and tax department etc. can get themselves enrolled for availing the treatment facility of Rs 5 lakh per family per year at empanelled hospitals.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of all the departments to expedite the work of issuing the cards and e-cards of the eligible beneficiaries should be generated by setting up special camps so that the general public could avail the facility being provided by the government. He said that no delay would be tolerated in the process of generating new e-cards and a review meeting would be held every week in this regard.
He appealed to the eligible beneficiaries to get their e-cards of ABSSBY Scheme so that free health services could be provided to them.
Among others who were present in the meeting included ADC Khanna Mr Sakatar Singh Bal, SDM (East) Dr Baljinder Singh Dhillon, AETC Mr Damanjeet Singh Mann, besides representatives of various departments.
