Covid 19: More than 2,500 isolation bed facility set up in District Ludhiana
Deputy Commissioner visits isolation centre at meritorious school
Ludhiana: In view of Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, the District Administration Ludhiana has made elaborate arrangements for the safety of residents. To isolate the suspected and other patients, the District Administration has set up more than 2500 bed facility in different isolation centres in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal today visited the Senior Secondary Residential School for Meritorious Students, here, and took stock of the arrangements there. He showed satisfaction over the arrangements being made by the district administration there. He was also accompanied by SDL Ludhiana (West) Mr Amrinder Singh Malhi, besides other senior district administration officials.
Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal informed that all hostels of Senior Secondary Residential School for Meritorious Students in Tagore Nagar, Hostel No 1, 2, 4 and 11 of Punjab Agricultural University, hostels of Kular College of Nursing at village Bija, Civil Hospital and Mother Child Hospital near Vardhman Mill, Community Health Centres at Khanna, Samrala, Raikot and Jagraon, Nursing College Raikot, would be used as isolation centres. He said that all these centres have a combined capacity of more than 2500 beds.
He informed that till date, only 94 suspected patients have been admitted at these isolation centres for tests and if any patient is required to be quarantined, he is being done at their home itself. He informed that if need for ventilators arises, beds have been reserved at DMCH, CMCH, SPS Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Mohan Dai Oswal Hospital, Deep Hospital, Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.
Mr Agrawal have directed the managements of these institutions to assist the District Administration if need arises. He said that any violation of the orders would attract strict action.
