Covid care isolation centre set up at Kular College of Nursing at Bija
Ludhiana district has arrangement of more than 2500 beds in isolation centres
Bija (Ludhiana): In view of Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, the District Administration Ludhiana has made elaborate healthcare arrangements for the patients. To isolate the suspected and other patients, there has been a facility of more than 2500 beds in district Ludhiana alone.
A 500-bedded COVID Care Isolation centre has been set up at Meritorious School, while one such centre with best healthcare facilities has also been developed at Kular College of Nursing at village Kishangarh near Bija.
While providing information, SDM Payal Mr Sagar Setia stated that this third level centre has a facility of admitting 400 patients. He informed that only suspected patients would be admitted at this centre, and if they require further treatment, they would be shifted to government or private hospitals. He stated that the health department has taken over this centre and a team of doctors led by SMO Malaud Dr Gobind Ram has been deputed here.
Mr Setia stated that two patients would be kept in one room and this centre has been developed in four hostel buildings and each room would have an attached toilet. He informed that for the benefit of health department and other officials, an intercom facility has also been set up, along with wifi facility for everyone.
He assured that the District Administration has made elaborate arrangements for fighting COVID 19 in the district. He stated that Civil Hospital Ludhiana, Mother Child Hospital near Vardhman, Community Health Centres at Khanna, Samrala, Raikot, Jagraon, Nursing College Raikot, Meritorious School Ludhiana, Hostel No 1, 2, 4, 11 at Punjab Agricultural University are being used as COVID Control Isolation Centres. He informed that the collective capacity of all these centres is of 2500 beds.
