CPI expressed concern over bad condition of Smart City Ludhiana

Ludhiana, October 3, 2022: The meeting of Communist Party of India (CPI) Ludhiana City Committee was held at Shaheed Karnail Singh Isru Bhavan under the presidentship of Comrade Avtar Chhibbar. 

At the beginning of the meeting, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and the Prime Minister of the country who gave the slogan of Jai Jawan Jai Kisan  Lal Bahadur Shastri were remembered on their birth anniversary.  Secretary of the City Committee Comrade M.S. Bhatia presented a detailed report on the issues citizen are facing in the city. He said that whenever the residents of the city  come out of their homes, they face the bad condition of the roads in this smart city, the bad condition of the traffic in the city, where even the ambulance and fire brigade do not get a way, due to the absence of auto stands in the city, the autos  run in an unorganized manner,  due to non-construction of vending zones under the Vending Act 2014 by the Municipal Corporation, difficulties are being faced by rehri  pullers as well as  common people, lack of water harvesting in the city even after a small amount of rain  the streets and roads get flooded, despite having a large number of industrial establishments and factories in the city the absence of residential colonies for the economically weaker sections  is a matter of concern for all, the deplorable condition of the Budha Dariya now called Ganda Nullah passing through the city, which carries all the industrial and domestic wastes of the city, the unsatisfactory condition of the civil hospital and other dispensaries  for such a large population of the city in which the majority belong the poor people , and the parking facilities in the city where the arbitrariness being done by the contractors at the places is shocking. These issues were discussed in detail.
 
The committee members from different wards of the city also shared the problems of their respective areas. The meeting also noted that though all kinds of health facilities are available in the city but they are in private sector hospitals where not every one can afford treatment. Hence it has been demanded that civil hospital should be upgraded to the level of PGI with all super speciality services. All kinds of tests should be done in the  hospital laboratory itself and free medicines should be given to the patients. The above issues will be brought to the attention of the administration and officials. There will be meetings in different wards to bring the people together to solve these issues and a campaign will be launched in the city.
 
Party's National Council member Dr. Arun Mitra explained the political situation of the country in detail and warned about the dangers of Modi government dividing the country on communal lines. Apart from this Assistant Secretary Comrade Vijay Kumar, Comrade Vinod Kumar and many members participated in the discussion. Finally, the President thanked everyone and asked them to work as a team to implement the decisions taken.
