Crop destroyed by rain due to negligence of the BJP government: Former CM Hooda

Rohtak, April 12, 2025: Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said lack of action by the ruling BJP government despite repeated warnings led to extensive damage to standing wheat crops due to unseasonal rains.

Today, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, Hooda received the blessings of Bajrang Bali at the Hanuman temple located in Nandal village of Rohtak. He also participated in many social programs in Rohtak.

The farmers told Hooda that their standing crops had been destroyed due to the government's inefficiency. “For the farmers who had come to the market to sell the crop, there was no arrangement of tarpaulin or gunny bags. The crop which had been purchased was also not lifted and it also got wet in the rain,” he said.

Former CM said that the standing crop ready in the field has also suffered huge losses. Due to the storm along with the rain, the entire crop was scattered in the field. Hooda demanded compensation for farmers who lost crops due to unseasonal rains.

He also reiterated that the government should make proper arrangements in the markets without any further delay. “It is very important to arrange for purchase and lifting as soon as possible, because storms often occur during the crop season. Its possibility cannot be ruled out in the coming days as well,” he stated, and added that the negligence of the BJP government causes damage to the hard work of the farmers for 6 months.
