CRPF Jawan Tilak Raj of Himachal among Pulwama blast martyrs

Dharamshala, February 15, 2019: Himachal has also lost CRPF Jawan, Tilak Raj of Jawali in Kangra in yesterday’s terrorists attack of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. “Tilak Raj was injured in this attack and succumbed to his injuries in Army Hospital in Kashmir yesterday", said Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Kangra.

30-years-old Shaheed Tilak Raj, son of Layak Ram was the resident of Village Dhewa (Dharklan) of Tehsil Jawali. As this very sad information about the incident reached the area, a wave of grief raged across the entire area. It is added that in the month of January, the martyr's wife Savitri Devi gave birth to the son (his elder son is 3-year-old). And Shaheed Tilak Raj had returned to duty on 11th after a vacation at home. He left behind his parents and an elder brother. Tilak Raj was the only support of the family. Tilak Raj's father works as labour and elder brother Baldev works as a salesman on contracts in Punjab.

Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Debavrat and CM Jairam Thakur have expressed grief. The Chief Minister said that those involved in this incident would not go unpunished. He also prayed to the Almighty to give peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss. Governor Acharya Devvrat has cancelled the dinner to be given to the legislators in the Raj Bhavan after the ongoing Budget session of Vidhan Sabha.
