Jalandhar, November 20, 2017: Dr.Surbhi Sharma, Assistant Professor in CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur has lately presented her research work at the 6th Global Conference on Materials Science and Engineering (CMSE 2017) which was organized by Wuhan Advance Materials Society in China.
This conference aimed in bringing together leading academic scientists, researchers and scholars to exchange and share their experience and research results on all aspects of Materials Science and Engineering, and discussed the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted.
Dr. Surbhi was one of the speakers from India and presented her research work on the topic “Influence of Sb substitution on thermal and electrical characteristics of Ge-Sn-Se chalcogenide glass system”. Telling about her work, she said, “My research work reported the systematic investigation of thermal and electrical characterizations of glass system to probe the structural modifications. Glasses under study showed good thermal stability and hence can find practical applications especially in fiber optical technology. Further in the current study an attempt was made to observe the variation in conductivity with respect to the increase in temperature for amorphous thin films using two probe methods and hence the band structure and corresponding conduction mechanism are studied. My work will be published in a renowned journal of IOP Conference Series in the Issue 1, 2018.”
The joy of attending CMSE 2017 has brought improvement and incremental growth in Dr. Surbhi’s approach to do things in the broader manner, to see things and the beauty to live international diversity. Conference allowed delegates to have issues addressed on Materials Sciences by recognized global experts who are up to date with the latest developments in the Materials Science field and provided information on new techniques and technologies. This International Materials Science conference featured world renowned keynote speakers, plenary speeches, young research forum, and poster presentations.
While applauding her effort, Chairman of CT Group S. Charanjit S Channi said, “I congratulate Dr. Surbhi on presenting her research work in an international conference. This would have surely helped in exploring more inputs for her work. This is a very good learning experience and we often promote our faculty to research thoroughly and highlight the work done on national and global level.”
