Jalandhar, February 14,2025: Supported by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and NFDC, the event marks a historic milestone as the first of its kind in North India.

CT Group, in association with the Deaf Leaders Foundation, successfully hosted the 9th India International Deaf Film Festival at its campus. The event, supported by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), was a groundbreaking initiative in North India, advocating for inclusivity and celebrating the artistic talents of the deaf community.

Led by the Deaf Leaders Foundation, the festival brought together students and filmmakers from across India, including the southern, northern, and northeastern regions, as well as international deaf filmmakers, creating a vibrant platform for creativity and expression.

The festival showcased a diverse range of films across various categories, including 1 Minute, 5 Minutes, 15 Minutes, and 30 Minutes, with a special focus on international films under 15 minutes. Participants competed for recognition in several prestigious categories, such as Winner, Runner-up, Third Place, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Studio, and Best Editing. The event not only highlighted the artistic achievements of the deaf community but also emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the arts and entertainment industry.

The festival was graced by the presence of several esteemed dignitaries, including Vineet Dhir, Mayor of Jalandhar; Deepak Bali, Advisor to Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board; Avinash Rai Khanna, Ex-MP BJP; Parmod Kumar, Social Activist from BJP; Chandan Grewal, Chairman of Safai Karamchari Commission, Punjab; Sumit Goyal, National Vice President of JCI; Singer Aatish; Designer Siddharth K Kakkar; and Director Cynosure Archie Sehgal. Dr. Manbir Singh, Managing Director of CT Group, and Tanika Channi, Co-Managing Director of CT Group, were also present, reaffirming their commitment to promoting inclusivity and empowering the deaf community through such initiatives.

Vineet Dhir, Mayor of Jalandhar, praised the efforts of CT Group and the Deaf Leaders Foundation, stating, "This festival is a remarkable step towards inclusivity and empowerment.
