CT Group of Institutions celebrated International Nursing Day

Jalandhar, May 12, 2016: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, who is widely considered the founder of modern nursing, CT Group of Institutions observed International Nursing Day at Sacred Heart Hospital, Jalandhar.
Students of CT Institute of Hotel Management (CTIHM) along with faculty members and nuns assemble at Sacred Heart Hospital. The occasion was chaired by Sr. Celine (Nursing Superintendent), Sr. Grace Boomkudy and Dr. Lyla (Medical Superintendent) also graced the occasion.
The event lasted for two hours; it started with prayer followed by speech from Head of Sacred heart hospital. There was also cake cutting ceremony in the remembrance of Florence Nightingale and the cake was distributed to all the patients of the hospital.
A speech on the contribution of nurses for the development of society was given by Dr. Rohit Sarin (Director, CTIHM). Holy verses from bible were also chanted at the occasion by all the nuns, students, and faculty members of CTIHM. The occasion ended with thanks giving to all the nurses who sacrificed their life for the society.
A sumptuous feast having snacks and, juices were prepared by CTIHM students for the nuns.
S. Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group of Institutions said “There is no life in this world without nurses. I salute the hard work of the nurses.” He said, “CT Group of Institutions has always been on the front foot in accomplishing its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR). This time as well, CTIHM had fulfilled our motive of CSR by thanking ‘Nurses’ for their incomparable work and dedication towards the society.
