This invention is based on Ultraviolet C LED Strip, which kills bacteria, virus and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease
Jalandhar: The research team of CT Group of Institutions, North Campus (Maqsudan), Navdeep Singh, Assistant Professor (ECE), CTITR and Vikas Kumar, Assistant Professor (Mechanical Engineering) has developed a Rechargeable and Portable UVC Sanitizer Baton. This invention is based on Ultraviolet C LED Strip, which kills bacteria, virus and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease.
Telling about the project, Vikas Kumar said, “There are lots of UVC based products available in the market, which needs power supply. This baton is equipped with 6000 mAh battery that offers about 5-6 hours of battery backup on a single full charge with a normal micro-USB charger. Besides this, the other key feature of this device is that within 1 inch above the surface area, it can destroy 99.9% germs within 20 seconds. It is very convenient to handle or use. Because ON/OFF switch is provided on the handle. For safety reason, this UVC baton works on chemical free process and leaves behind no residue.
A lot of problems are coming to mobile phones like screen damage, the headphone jack and the speaker problem while using Alcohol based sanitizer so we are representing this handy product that does not damage the phone, Vikas further added.
Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Director appreciated the efforts of team members and encouraged them to perform more research based activities in future also.
