CT Group organises 9th Sardarni Manjit Kaur Memorial Annual Inter CT Athletic Meet

Students participate in 9th Sardarni Manjit Kaur Memorial Annual Inter CT Athletic Meet organised by CT Group. 

Jalandhar, February 27, 2015: CT Institute of Engineering, Management and Technology (CTIEMT) lifted the winner trophy of 9th Sardarni Manjit Kaur Memorial Annual Inter CT Athletic Meet organised by CT Group of Institutions at its Shahpur Campus. The two days athletic meet was concluded on Friday admist full enthusiasm and zeal by the players.

More than 500 athletes participated and performed their skills in numerous track and field events like 100mtrs, 200mtrs, 800mtrs, 1500mtrs, Long jump, Shot Put, Relay Race and Discuss Throw. The sports persons inflamed with a spirit of sportsmanship and gusto tried their best to excel in their events.

The athletic meet started with the hoisting of the CT Group flag, the oath taking ceremony, releasing of colorful balloons and a concatenation of athletic events heralded the opening of this extravaganza by the Chief Guest, Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman of CT Group of Institutions), Harpreet Singh Channi (Vice Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Dr. Manoj Kumar (Group Director, CT Institutions).

The Athletic Meet came to a close with the distribution of the prizes to the top notches by the Chief Guest for closing ceremony Parminder Kaur Channi (Co-Chairperson, CT Group of Institutions). The best athlete in men category was bagged by VIkas Rana of CT Institute of Management and Information Technology (CTIMIT) and in the women category, Harmandeep Kaur of CTIEMT was declared as the best athlete. The Chief Guest for closing ceremony dispensed the medals to the winners and honoured the Sports Department. In her valedictory message congratulated the winners and thanked the teachers for their great efforts in successful culmination of the Athletic Meet.

Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) said “It is heartening to see that the students are more enthusiastic about the games than ever. We are working more assiduously towards developing this potential and script possible success stories at national and international level. These events help to embed a spirit of sports to embody the combination of qualities of fairness, courtesy, generosity, grace and decency i.e. sportsmanship in the students.”
