Jalandhar, September 12, 2022: CT Institute of Hotel Management, South Campus, Shahpur has organize “The Kitchen Star” to explore the hidden chef amongst the students and professionals from different streams. A total of 48 teams were registered for the 1st round which was held on 06.09.2022 wherein all the students came with a dish cooked from their home which was judged by the expert panel of chefs. All the participants came up with tasty and amazing dishes. Out of 48 teams, 12 teams got qualified for the final round. The final round was held on the same day wherein they were provided with a mystery ingredient that they were supposed to use to prepare a final dish. All the students prepared scrumptious dishes using their innovation and passion for cooking. The dishes were judged precisely by Chef Nellu Kaura, Founder of Chef Kala.
The Top 3 winners of "THE KITCHEN STAR” was 1st Prize (Tie between 2 teams) – Neetu Mangat & Amandeep and Tarun Singla from GNA University, 2nd Prize - Urvashi and Subhkaran from GNA University,3rd Prize - Anisha and Rohit from CTIHM, Department of Fashion Designing.
The jury’s Special Award was presented to Ms. Ritu Chandna. Chef Nellu Kaura Founder Chefkala appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to keep their passion of cooking alive by participating in these events.
Parminder Kaur Channi, Co-Chairperson CT Group of Institutions congratulated all the winners and participants and told them it was a wonderful experience for him to see the students and professionals from different streams coming up with such amazing and innovative dishes.
Dr. Manbir Singh, Managing Director CT Group of Institutions also congratulated all the students and also announced season II of The Kitchen Star which will be held at the State level.
Dr. Anupamdeep Sharma Director campus(o), Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dham Director Research & Planning, Divoy Chhabra, Vice Principal , Nittan Arora Deputy Director, Division of Student Welfare, and faculties of Hotel Management, Agriculture, Tourism department graced the event and motivated the participants.
