Jalandhar, September 11, 2024: CT Institute of Law held a seminar on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and law, marking the first time an educational institution in Punjab has addressed this critical topic.
The seminar featured esteemed resource persons, including Adv. Mandeep Singh Sachdev (Senior Advocate, DBA Jalandhar), Adv. Samrata Sachdev, and Adv. Meher Sachdev led an insightful discussion on the growing role of AI in the legal profession. Principal CT Institute of Law, Dr Manav Dhinds, faculty, and staff were also present.
A key area of focus was the use of AI for legal research. Adv. Meher Sachdev explained how AI can enhance the efficiency and accuracy of legal research by rapidly analyzing vast amounts of case law and legal texts. However, she also cautioned against the risks of over-reliance on AI, emphasizing the need for human oversight in the legal decision-making process. The seminar also highlighted the current regulatory frameworks governing the use of AI in law.
Speaking on the occasion, Adv. Mandeep Singh Sachdev said, "AI has the potential to revolutionize the legal profession, offering tools that can enhance efficiency and accuracy. However, we must remain mindful of the ethical implications and ensure that AI is used as a supplement to, not a replacement for, human expertise."
