Jalandhar, December 14, 2018: Defending their winning title, CT Public School has once again proved their mettle and has won the Champions trophy of the Sardarni Manjit Kaur Memorial Cricket Tournament for the sixth consecutive year. The runners-up trophy was won by St.Stephens School, Chandigarh in the sixth season of this five days tournament organized by CT Public School at the Shahpur Campus of CT Group of Institutions.

The trophy of Man of the Match was won by Azam Nazar from CT Public School, Best Bowler by Arun Kalia, and Best Wicket-Keeper by Jitesh Jain and Best Batsman by Kartik Chadha. The umpires for the final match were Ravi Chorasia from Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) and Rajat Sharma from JDCA.

In the final match, CT Public School won the toss and chose to bat first. The team scored 128 runs in 20 overs while opponent team St. Stephens School managed to score 68 run, all out. The top scorer of the match includes Azam and Aditya from the winning team; they scored 70 runs and 39 runs respectively.

The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony was Diljinder S Dhillon, SSP Vigilance Bureau. He was accompanied by Chairman, CT Group of Institutions Charanjit S Channi, Managing Director Manbir Singh, Vice Principal of CT Public School Sukhdeep Kaur and Vikas Chaddha, HOD Sports. The dignitaries felicitated the winners, best performers in different aspects and runners-up team of the tournament.

The closing ceremony had March past by the participating team, Salutation, final events & Medal ceremony followed by speech by the Chief Guest of the event who stressed on the importance of games and sports activities in our life. He also congratulated the players for their remarkable attempts.

Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group of Institutions congratulated the winners and performers of the tournament. He also thanked the participating teams for their remarkable performances during the tournament.
