The students must prepare themselves to be skilful learners.” Delivering the lecture, Dr Vatta said, “GDP and employment are major concerning issues and top challenges of India. GDP is leading to employment generation but not capital deepening. The poor are becoming poor and the rich continue to be rich. The condition of Industrial sector is stable, service sector is increasing but agriculture is deteriorating. More than half of workforce is generating less than 15 percent of GDP in agriculture. On the other hand, in regards to employment, Industry is struggling to get skilled workers whereas youth is struggling to find jobs. For future perspectives, there is need of skill development, labour intensive sectors and expansion of infrastructure facilitates and youth needs to be a learner not a subject master. Honouring the guest, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor said that the session was truly enlightening and based on factual description. He added, “It is crucial for a student to be an all-rounder but not just focusing on his domain. Economy and Sociology are two fields that each of us encounters every day. Youth must focus on seeking quality based employment rather than quantity based which in return produces practically smart youth.”
