CT University Marks National Sports Day

CT University's Directorate of Sports and Department of Student Welfare organized National Sports Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of the iconic Indian hockey player, Major Dhyan Chand. The event exemplified unity, camaraderie, and the spirit of healthy competition, as students from various schools came together to participate in a diverse range of sports activities.

Ludhiana, August 31, 2023: CT University's Directorate of Sports and Department of Student Welfare organized National Sports Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of the iconic Indian hockey player, Major Dhyan Chand. The event exemplified unity, camaraderie, and the spirit of healthy competition, as students from various schools came together to participate in a diverse range of sports activities.

The day's festivities were marked by a series of thrilling events that showcased the students' passion and enthusiasm for sports. The activities included Volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi, a spirited Football match between National and International students, and an intense Tug of War competition.

One of the highlights of the event was the enthusiastic participation of students from different schools, which added a vibrant and inclusive dimension to the competitions. The students' dedication and sportsmanship were evident as they engaged wholeheartedly in the spirit of the games.


Speaking about the event, Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh stated, "National Sports Day holds immense significance as it not only honors the legendary Major Dhyan Chand but also underscores the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and holistic development. Our students' active involvement and dedication are truly inspiring, and events like these promote a sense of unity among the youth."

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhishek Tripathi, and Deputy Director of the Department of Student Welfare Davinder Singh. Additionally, Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor of Physical Education, Mr. Vinay Panwar, Assistant Professor of Physical Education, and Miss Isha Bhumak, Assistant Professor of Physical Education, were also present. The event saw participation from the Heads of the Schools, Faculty, and Students, making it a true celebration of collective spirit and sportsmanship.
