CT University marks ‘World Environment Day’ by spreading the message of clean environment

Ludhiana, June 6, 2022: Promoting the message of ‘Clean India, Green India’, CT University along with the support of Punjab Pollution Control Board, Ludhiana organized a speakers’ talk over environmental cleanup to celebrate the World Environment Day.
The Guests for the occasion remained Rajpal Singh Gill, Environmental Engineer, PPCB, Ludhiana. Registrar, CT University, Sarabpreet Singh.
Meanwhile Rajpal Singh Gill as the guest speaker based on statistics and facts said that water consumption is increasing with the advancement of our lifestyle and said that water consumption of general population is three times more than the consumption of industry. Speaking on the issue of air pollution, he said that the air is getting polluted due to industry smoke fumes   and burning of field stubble.  The proper solution for this problem is Bioethanol Plant which can consume the straw of an entire district in a single plant. He also said that keeping the environment balanced and healthy is possible only if the government and the people do initiatives together.
CT University student speakers Chetna Dhiman, School of Law, Abid Rehman, Journalism and Mass Communication, Rohit Singh, School of Humanities and Physical Education and Muskan Khurana, School of Design and Innovation also participated in the event. The theme of the students' talk was' only one earth with the focus on living sustainably in harmony with nature '. In which the students also emphasized on the fact that saving the environment is in the hands of human beings.
Apart from this, the School of Humanities and Physical Education and the School of Engineering, realizing their responsibility towards the environment, planted trees along with the students of the department and also took up the oath of their upbringing. The event was led and conducted by Sarghi Kaur Barring, Assistant Professor and Cultural Coordinator, CT University. The Registrar, CT University, Sarabpreet Singh, Jodh Singh Jassal, Project Manager and all the students of NSS Wing were present and planted trees in the University.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice-Chancellor, CT University, said that the day is not far when we will be deprived of animals and birds as the effects of global warming are being felt globally. He also said that either there would be flood situation on all sides or there would be drought. So everyone should make it a habit to plant a tree n the house at the time of birth or death
