Ludhiana, March 1, 2023: CT University organised a session on IPR 'Filing Procedure & Drafting of Complete Specification' by Subrat Sahu, Examiner of Patents and Designs, Indian Patent Office Delhi, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and Dr. Ashish Prabhat, Examiner of Patents and Designs, Indian Patent Office, Delhi, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, of the government of India (GoI).


The keynote speaker Subrat Sahu began by detailed information about IPR and Patents, points related to Indian Patents, Applications and how patents are granted to encourage start-ups. The main objective of this session was to increase the awareness of patent filing and its various aspects.


Students learned to create their own start-ups, were introduced with the certain start-up schemes, benefits or funding providing by the government norms and policies which amazed the students that the government takes initiatives and provides funding to various start-ups which aids them to grow their small-medium scale business to the large scale business. They also learned about the ideation in innovation helps them to move forward with their ideas, for an innovation and provided information about the filling procedures and drafting of the complete process.


The keynote speaker Dr. Ashish Prabhat, Examiner of Patents and Designs, Indian Patent Office, Delhi, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, of the government of India (GoI), elaborated on the various aspects of the Indian Patent & Design Act. Dr. Prabhat enlightened the students about the various stages of the patent filing process.


Ati Priye, Director, Planning and Development thanked the guests and said “IPRs are a set of exclusive rights protected by law which are accorded to creators over their creations for a certain period of time. It empowers innovators/creators, by keeping their ideas/inventions unique, thereby preventing them from being copied. Such sessions provides them competitive advantage and business success. “


On this Occasion, CT University’s Vice Chancellor (off.) Dr. Satish, Director, Planning and Development Ati Priye , Dr. Harmeet Singh, Deputy Director IPR Cell , Faculty and Students were present.
