CT University spreads message of fitness at WOW
From kids to old age, people participate in fun filled workout at WOW
Ludhiana, November 13, 2022: Promoting the message of healthy living and fitness, CT University along with the support of Commissionerate of Police Ludhiana organized Weekend of Wellness (WOW) at Rakh Baagh, Ludhiana. The Chief Guest for the occasion remained Mrs. Saumya Mishra, Joint Commissioner of police - Law and order, Ludhiana. On this occasion, CT University’s Vice Chancellor (officiating) Dr. Satish Kumar; Director, Business Development and Marketing Sahil Kapoor ; Director, Planning and Development Ati Priye ; Deputy Director Student Welfare Davinder Singh and faculty were present.
People of different age bars participated in this fitness event in which they broke into synchronized dance moves and pumping workouts in a traffic free zone. The streets from 6am to 9am were cordoned off for the citizens. They used the streets for recreation that promoted health, well-being, fitness, togetherness, and joy. The residents reformed their roads as open-air dance studios, art hubs, gymnasiums, and yoga institutes.
The event started with fun-filled and healthy activities like Yoga, Fitness Challenges, Karate, Zumba, Cricket, Open DJ, Bhangra, Bollywood dance, Badminton, and many more.
Saumya Mishra, Joint Commissioner of police - Law and order, Ludhiana said instead of using a vehicle for short distance from home, cycling or walking should be done. By doing this the body will be healthy and environment will be free from pollution. She added ‘Stay Fit Stay Happy’
Mankirat Kaur, Director, Fettle Fitness Hub said that residents have participated in this event whole heartedly and we as a fitness partner thank CTU for giving us a chance to promote healthy lifestyle in a unique way.
Dr. Manbir Singh, Pro Chancellor of CT University said that the endeavor aimed to encourage people to start walking, cycling, and doing more fitness-related activities in an entertaining way for healthy living, especially after the lockdown. The event is organized on Sunday to promote healthy lifestyle and remind the citizens to reclaim the streets as it belongs to them.
Dr. Satish Kumar, Vice Chancellor (officiating) thanked Police Commissionerate, Decathalon, our guests and participants for making this event a grand success once again.
