CT University’s Law students perform duty as Election Volunteers
Ludhiana, February 21, 2022: CT University’s School of Law students named Vishwaas Vaid, Sonu Sood, Harshita, Sanjivani, Chakas and Simarpreet Kaur of BA LLB became election volunteers and department took the initiative to spread awareness for voting.
On the deciding day of election the law aspirants not only responsibly casted their votes but also joined in as election Volunteers for facilitating the general public in casting their votes. The students shared their experiences and said that it was a great honor for them to fulfill their duty of being responsible citizens of India and volunteered for the election in which the elders cast their votes .Some of the services provided by them included helping the elderly to visit the polling stations, arranging wheelchairs for those who were unable to visit the polling booths and arranging e-rickshaws for the voters as well. The students also thanked their teachers and CT University for always motivating them for social responsibility. Students also got certificates for the volunteer duty.
These students embarking on the significance of elections also joined in the SVEEP campaign initiated by the Election Commission. The students while joining in the SVEEP campaign organized awareness Drive on SVEEP where the law aspirants took an ethical voting pledge, made a human chain for SVEEP. The young voters also exchanged their viewpoints on democracy and voting ethically and sensibly. Joining the campaign and initiation under SVEEP the CT University’s School of Design & Innovation also organized a poster making and slogan writing competition.
CTU Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti and Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Gill, Principal, School of Law congratulated and appreciated the efforts of students and applauded their efforts as responsible citizens.
