CTA contributes Rs.5 lacs towards Kerala’s flood relief fund
Dharamsala, September 13, 2018: Extending solidarity and support to the people of Kerala, Tibetan government-in-exile at Dharamshala has announced a contribution of Rs.5 lacs (INR 500,000) towards Kerala Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. “As Kerala battles the worst flood in a century, Central Tibetan Administration(Tibetan Government) and the Tibetan people stand with the people of Kerala. In this time of crisis, we offer our deepest prayers and support towards the relief efforts”, said President CTA Dr Lobsang Sangay. Flood-hit Kerala has suffered a death toll of over 400 people with more than one million people sheltering in relief camps. Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited the state to take stock of the situation.
