CU Punjab fraternity attends PM Address during Post-Budget Webinar on Boosting Job Creation- Investing in People, Economy, and Innovation
The faculty and students of Central University of Punjab, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, attended the address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Post-Budget Webinar on Boosting Job Creation – Investing in People, Economy, and Innovation. More than 350 students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the LIVE telecast of the program.

Bathinda, March 5, 2025: The faculty and students of Central University of Punjab, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, attended the address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Post-Budget Webinar on Boosting Job Creation – Investing in People, Economy, and Innovation. More than 350 students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the LIVE telecast of the program.
During his address, PM Modi emphasized that this year’s Union Budget paves the way for a stronger workforce and a growing economy, with investments prioritized equally across infrastructure, industries, people, economy, and innovation. He underlined that capacity building and talent nurturing are foundational for the nation’s progress and highlighted that the vision of investing in people rests on three key pillars—Education, Skill Development, and Healthcare. Stressing the importance of balanced investment, he remarked that People, Economy, and Innovation have been given the same priority as infrastructure and industries.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that India’s education system is undergoing a significant transformation after several decades, driven by initiatives like the National Education Policy, expansion of IITs, and the integration of technology in education, including artificial intelligence. In the healthcare sector, he highlighted the expansion of telemedicine facilities in Primary Health Centres, establishment of day-care cancer centres, and digital healthcare infrastructure to ensure quality medical services reach the last mile.
Discussing the budget’s focus on tourism, PM Modi announced the development of 50 tourism destinations across India, with a special emphasis on granting infrastructure status to hotels in these areas to enhance ease of tourism and boost local employment. He further spoke about India’s ambition to lead in AI research, announcing the establishment of a National Large Language Model and urging the private sector to take a proactive role in global AI advancements. To foster innovation, he highlighted the allocation of a ₹1 lakh crore corpus fund to support research and innovation, along with a Deep Tech Fund of Funds to encourage investment in emerging technologies. Additionally, he announced the ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’ to digitize over one crore manuscripts, preserving India’s rich heritage.
Expressing gratitude towards PM Modi, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari praised the Prime Minister’s inspiring vision and reaffirmed CU Punjab’s commitment to skilling, capacity building, and talent nurturing of the youth to help realize the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
