CU Punjab Hosts GIAN Course on Economics of Innovation and Sustainable Development
The Department of Economic Studies at the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CU Punjab), successfully conducted a course on Economics of Innovation and Sustainable Development under the Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) program in the first half of this month.

Bathinda, March 20, 2025: The Department of Economic Studies at the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CU Punjab), successfully conducted a course on Economics of Innovation and Sustainable Development under the Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) program in the first half of this month.
The course was jointly taught by Prof. Olman Segura-Bonilla from the National University of Costa Rica and Prof. Sandeep Kaur, Dean, School of Social Sciences, CU Punjab. Participants from across the country engaged in discussions on key topics such as environmental degradation, entrepreneurship, and the role of innovation in sustainable development.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari expressed gratitude to both coordinators for their contribution toward sustainable development goals. He also explored avenues for future collaboration with the National University of Costa Rica, including webinars, conferences, research exchanges, and potential faculty and Ph.D. student exchange programs.
