CU Punjab Special program organizes to celebrate National Science Day 2025

Bathinda, March 24, 2025: Central University of Punjab, under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, organized one day event to celebrate National Science Day 2025 on the theme "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat." The event was organized by the Institutional Innovation Council, CU Punjab, in collaboration with NCSCT-DST, Govt. of India; PSCST, Chandigarh; and ANRF (SSR Activity – SERB Metrics). Faculty, research scholars and students from university and nearby educational institutions enthusiastically attended this programme.
The Chief Guest and Invited Speaker of this programme was Prof. Ashwani Pareek, Executive Director, NABL, Mohali. He delivered a special lecture on "Empowering Youth through Biomanufacturing: Innovate, Create, Transform," highlighting biomanufacturing’s role in sustainable innovation, industrial growth, and eco-friendly solutions. Emphasizing the need for skilled professionals, he encouraged students to explore new frontiers in biotechnology and contribute to research and entrepreneurship, shaping a future-ready scientific community.
In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari emphasized the crucial role of young researchers in advancing India's global leadership in science and innovation. He urged students to cultivate scientific temperament, innovation, and entrepreneurship to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The event featured a Nukkad Natak on "Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat @2047" performed by CUPB students. Participants also engaged in a Science Quiz and Poster Making Competition, with winners receiving cash prizes. Students from nearby institutions and invited guests visited the Central Instrument Laboratory & Incubation Centre – CUPRDF.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Monisha Dhiman, Director IQAC, and concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Sanjeev Thakur, Dean Student Welfare. The event was coordinated by Prof. Anil Mantha, Prof. Vinod Kumar, Dr. Sunil Singh, Dr. A.L. Sharma, and Dr. Ashok Pathak. The Science Quiz Competition was coordinated by Prof. Felix Bast, Prof. J.K. Patnaik, and Dr. Amandeep Brar, while the Poster Making Competition was coordinated by Prof. Raj Kumar, Dr. Dhanya M.S., and Dr. Preeti Khetarpal.
