CU Punjab Successfully Hosts Annual English Literary Festival, Quantum Quill: Carnival de Sci-Fi
The English Literary Society of the Department of English, School of Language, Literature, and Culture, Central University of Punjab, successfully hosted the 3rd Annual English Literary Festival, Quantum Quill: Carnival de Sci-Fi, on first week of March, 2025.

Bathinda, March 13, 2025: The English Literary Society of the Department of English, School of Language, Literature, and Culture, Central University of Punjab, successfully hosted the 3rd Annual English Literary Festival, Quantum Quill: Carnival de Sci-Fi, on first week of March, 2025.
Under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra Prasad Tivari, the festival commenced with an inaugural session, featuring the university anthem, a welcome address by Dr. Vipan Pal Singh (Head of Department) on Exploring Science Fiction: Issues and Trends, and presidential remarks by Dr. Vijay Sharma (Registrar, CUP).
A key highlight of the festival was the plenary session by renowned science fiction author Gautam Bhatia, titled Science Fiction: Approaching the Genre. The engaging discussion drew scholars, students, and literary enthusiasts, eager to explore the intersections of literature, technology, and futurism. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Osheen Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of English. The afternoon session featured exciting competitions, including The Dimensional Feud Quiz, Narration Story Web, and the first part of the Cultural Evening, setting the stage for the next day’s celebrations.
The second day of the festival saw an array of engaging events, beginning with a Group Song, followed by a Cosplay and Monologue Competition. The Turncoat Debate—Janus: The Devil’s Advocate encouraged dynamic discourse among participants. The Quantum Hunt Treasure Hunt in the afternoon kept the excitement alive, leading up to the Prize Distribution Ceremony.
The festival concluded with Cultural Evening: Part II, featuring spectacular performances celebrating creativity, literature, and artistic expression. Organized by the Department of English, the festival successfully fostered literary engagement and interdisciplinary dialogue, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and faculty across the university.
Quantum Quill: Carnival de Sci-Fi proved to be a resounding success, leaving attendees inspired and eagerly anticipating its next edition.
