Chandigarh December 2, 2024: Curtin University, Perth, Australia, delegation today visited Panjab University (PU) to explore collaborative opportunities in education.
The distinguished delegation from the School of Education, Curtin University, Perth, Australia, was led by Professor Rekha Kaul. Professor Kaul was accompanied by Professors Rachel Sheffield and Michel Jones, along with an 11-member delegation, as part of a broader educational outreach tour, which included their visit to Chandigarh.
The Australian delegation had meaningful discussions with PU Dean International Students, Professor Kewal Krishan, Dean Alumni Relations Prof. Latika Sharma, faculty members namely Former DSW & CSO Prof. Jatinder Grover, Former DIS & DSW Prof. Nandita Singh, Prof. Kiran Deep and research scholars from the Department of Education at Alumni Hall, Department of Alumni Relations, Panjab University Chandigarh
The interactive session covered a range of pressing and innovative topics in education, including creating dynamic learning environments, pedagogical strategies for teaching English, Science, and Mathematics, constructivist approaches, learned optimism, social-emotional learning, critical thinking, self-efficacy among primary school teachers, neuroscience in education, and the evolving use of AI by students and its implications for educators.
One of the key outcomes of the discussions was the exploration of potential academic collaborations, including dual-degree programs, twinning study initiatives, and the enhancement of study-abroad and student exchange opportunities. These initiatives are aimed to provide quality education and global exposure to aspiring teachers.
The School of Education at Curtin University, which serves approximately 18,000 students, has expressed keen interest in collaborating with Panjab University to share expertise and foster innovative teaching practices.
The visit highlights Panjab University’s commitment to strengthening international academic ties and enhancing its educational offerings through global partnerships.
