CU's University Institute of Media Studies (UIMS) organises 'Diwali Fiesta 2023'
The University Institute of Media Studies at Chandigarh University hosted a 'Diwali Fiesta'. The event was inaugurated by ED of the department Dr. Anurag Verma. The event featured a distinctive number of stalls of food , captivating decor , and trendy fashion , which were all managed by the enthusiastic students and faculty members of UIMS. The festivities attracted students from various departments, accompanied by their respective faculties and Heads of Departments.
Mohali, November 9, 2023: The University Institute of Media Studies at Chandigarh University hosted a 'Diwali Fiesta'. The event was inaugurated by ED of the department Dr. Anurag Verma. The event featured a distinctive number of stalls of food , captivating decor , and trendy fashion , which were all managed by the enthusiastic students and faculty members of UIMS. The festivities attracted students from various departments, accompanied by their respective faculties and Heads of Departments.
Under the guidance of dedicated faculty Dr. Chanchal Sachdeva Suri and Shweta Chugh and the Head of the Department Dr. Ankit Kashyap, UIMS students showcased their talent in organizing a diverse range of activities. While addressing the event, UIMS HOD Dr. Ankit Kashyap stated that this initiative is a huge step towards polishing event management and entrepreneurship skills of students which will help them in the long run.
Diwali Fiesta 2023 received generous support from the Pranyas Foundation, contributing significantly to the success of the event. The UIMS department donated the profits to the underprivileged segments of society. The donation drive took place at the SOREM School in Chandigarh, a remarkable institution managed by specially abled individuals. Also, the dedicated team distributed sweets, diyas and home decor items to the specially abled workers.
