Dalai Lama postpones his tour to Sikkim fixed from Oct 16 to 22
The Dalai Lama office in Dharamsala has informed today about the postponement of His Holiness tour to Sikkim later this month.
Dharamsala, October 8, 2023: The Dalai Lama office in Dharamsala has informed today about the postponement of His Holiness tour to Sikkim later this month.
In the notice issued today at Dharamsala, it said, “ In view of the recent disaster in Sikkim caused by floods and the ongoing focus of the state machinery in relief efforts, the planned visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Gangtok and Salugara scheduled from October 16 to 22 has been postponed until further notice. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Our prayers are with the people and state of Sikkim.”
The Dalai Lama office web site is now showing the next public engagement of the Dalai Lama as the Teachings in Bylakuppe, Karnataka, on November 26 .
Earlier today morning the Tibetan spiritual leader the 14th Dalai Lama left Dharamsala for Delhi for a medical checkup. It is to add here that due to persistent cold, the Dalai Lama didn’t even attend the teachings session for Taiwanese on 2nd and 3rd of October in Dharamsala.
According to the Dalai Lama’s personal secretary, Chimie Rigzin, there is nothing to worry and the Dalai Lama will be back to Dharamsala from Delhi in the next two -three days.
